Preferred technical competencies include Python programming, Linux administration, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, penetration testing, and experience with AI/ML for anomaly detection within safety-critical, cyber-physical systems and aircraft data networks.

What you'll do

  • Perform cyber risk assessments and threat modeling for aircraft systems.
  • Develop security requirements and evaluate security architectures for avionics and communication networks.
  • Analyze aircraft networks, software-enabled systems, and data flows to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct verification activities and laboratory evaluations to ensure system resilience.
  • Create automation scripts and develop engineering tools to support cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Support the documentation of secure development practices and aviation certification processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews for safety-critical aerospace systems.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a full-time student currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
  • Completion of sophomore year is required prior to the internship start date.
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which must be listed on the resume.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Preferred degrees include Cyber Security Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with scripting or software development, preferably in Python, is desired.
  • Knowledge of core cybersecurity principles, network architectures, and threat modeling techniques is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and secure software development practices is desired.
