TL;DR · Solutions Architect

As a Solutions Architect, you will serve as a senior individual contributor bridging the gap between technical writing and engineering to support federal customers. You will be responsible for developing winning technical proposals, creating architecture diagrams, and building proofs of concept in sandbox environments to demonstrate viable solutions. Your daily work involves translating agency requirements into defensible technical designs while managing cloud cost models and infrastructure as code. The role requires expertise in AWS or Azure, including experience with containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Python. You must navigate complex compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53 to ensure solutions meet federal security standards. Key technical skills include proficiency in Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, and building AI/ML or data pipelines within secure government cloud environments.

  • Build and demo working proofs of concept (POCs) in federal cloud environments to solve specific client problems.
  • Deploy infrastructure as code, containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and data or AI/ML pipelines.
  • Conduct technical discovery sessions and whiteboard workshops with client architects and program leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with federal frameworks including FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and Zero Trust requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major cloud provider public sector partner teams.

What we're looking for

  • 15+ years of experience in cloud architecture, engineering, or technical presales.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting federal government customers or contracts.
  • Deep hands-on experience in AWS or Azure, including federal regions, and direct experience contributing to federal proposals.
  • Practical skills with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep), containers/Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling, and Python.
  • Working knowledge of FedRAMP, the ATO process, and other compliance frameworks like FISMA and NIST 800-53.
