Software Engineer, Structured Storage

What you'll do

• Design, implement, test, and operate well-scoped projects and features within the structured-storage roadmap.
• Develop versioned APIs and service components for graph, key-value, and related structured-storage services.
• Manage the full service lifecycle from source to production using CI/CD, Kubernetes, and database migrations.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency using metrics, traces, and load tests.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and participate in the team's on-call rotation.
• Lead postmortems, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for production incidents.
• Coordinate project specifications and timelines while keeping stakeholders informed of risks and remediation options.
• Share knowledge through documentation, technical reviews, and mentoring peers or interns.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, master's degree and 3+ years of related experience, or a PhD.
• 3 years of experience developing production backend services and versioned APIs in Go, C++, or another systems programming language.
• 3 years of experience with at least one production graph, relational, or NoSQL database, including data modeling and performance tuning.
• 3 years of experience deploying containerized services through CI/CD to Kubernetes or a comparable orchestration platform.
• 3 years of experience diagnosing production issues with logs, metrics, or traces and participating in on-call or incident response.
• Experience building or operating distributed services in production, including failure handling, scalability, or recovery (preferred).
• Experience with Neo4j, Cypher, PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, or RDS (preferred).
• Experience with Helm, Kubernetes controllers, Terraform, Puppet, or similar delivery and configuration tooling (preferred).
