The Software Engineer Sr (Senior Database Automation Engineer) joins the Technology organization to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for enterprise database platforms. By integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines and enterprise tooling, you will solve complex infrastructure challenges, improve service reliability, and standardize operational workflows across diverse database technologies to ensure consistent performance and security compliance.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop enterprise automation solutions for database platform operations.
  • Build reusable automation frameworks and engineering patterns to eliminate manual processes.
  • Automate database provisioning, patching, compliance validation, monitoring, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Serve as a senior Oracle DBA to support RAC, ASM, and Exadata technologies.
  • Develop platform-agnostic automation for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Integrate automation with enterprise APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and identity management systems.
  • Create dashboards and reporting solutions to track operational metrics and service reliability.
  • Provide technical mentorship and lead strategic automation initiatives for the engineering team.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in database administration or engineering within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in Oracle technologies including RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, SQL, PL/SQL, and Multitenant architecture.
  • Advanced Python development skills and strong Linux shell scripting expertise.
  • Experience with Ansible or comparable automation frameworks, REST APIs, and Git source control.
  • Strong Linux administration experience and ability to troubleshoot across OS, database, network, and application layers.
  • Experience with Exadata, OEM, Fleet Patching, CI/CD pipelines, and platform engineering (preferred).
