Software Engineer II, Data Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Build high-throughput pipelines to convert raw vehicle recordings into query-ready datasets.
• Design and tune data layouts, versioning, and indexing on object storage for fast reads.
• Define and evolve schemas and data contracts for heterogeneous sensor and telemetry data.
• Run and optimize large batch workloads on distributed compute systems for better throughput and cost.
• Own the operational health of built systems through metrics, alerting, and on-call support.
• Resolve data quality issues and roll out changes with teams that produce and consume data.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building data infrastructure or distributed backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python (or C++/Go) with strong fundamentals in data structures and design.
• Hands-on experience with a distributed processing framework such as Ray, Spark, or Flink.
• Hands-on experience with columnar, object-storage-backed data formats and table formats like Parquet, Apache Arrow, Iceberg, or Delta.
• Experience with observability tooling for batch systems such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
• Experience with robotics/sensor data, storage tuning, or Kubernetes/cloud workloads (preferred).
