Staff Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead the strategy and development of autonomy algorithms to extract semantic meaning from complex urban edge cases.
• Architect complex onboard systems including upstream sensor dependencies and evaluation metrics for the stack.
• Define requirements for high-quality large evaluation datasets and objective performance metrics.
• Mentor senior and lead engineers to foster a culture of rigorous experimentation and engineering excellence.
• Influence the technical direction of multiple teams and set the roadmap for state-of-the-art Machine Learning systems.
• Act as a bridge between AV Labs and other engineering units to ensure successful integration and deployment at scale.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of working experience in the Robotics or Autonomous Systems industry.
• Proven experience leading large-scale technical projects from conception to production.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and Linux environments.
• PhD degree in Computer Vision, Game Theory, Robotics, or Machine Learning with a focus on Autonomous Driving (preferred).
• Extensive experience with C++, CUDA, and high-performance system optimization (preferred).
• Deep understanding of the Robot Operating System (ROS) or similar autonomous middleware (preferred).
