TL;DR · Software Engineer, High Availability and Disaster Recovery

As a Software Engineer, High Availability and Disaster Recovery, you will join the engineering team to develop global architecture by combining less-available components and data centers into a highly available and resilient whole. You will work on latency-critical, time-sensitive, and data redundancy solutions while solving complex problems such as investigating Mongo write concerns, minimizing cross-region TLS handshakes, and developing systems to automate disaster detection and failovers. Your daily work involves writing code, scoping, designing, and deploying solutions using Ruby, Java, Mongo, Postgres, Trino SQL, and Temporal workflows. You will also manage cloud infrastructure services including S3, EBS, EC2, and VPCs while investigating issues in live, distributed production systems. The role focuses on providing uptime and data protection by implementing multi-region architectures, high durability patterns, and fault-tolerant systems using data sharding and replication strategies.
