Join Charles River Development (CRD), the FinTech division of State Street, as a Junior Engineer in their Alpha® Platform Engineering team, where you will work on transforming monolithic software into cloud-based technology using Microsoft Azure, Kafka, Snowflake, and more. As part of an agile organization, you will collaborate with senior engineers to design, build, test, and improve software features across the CRD/Alpha Platform, participating in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives while gaining hands-on experience with modern technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, Java, C#, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Snowflake. This role offers foundational programming experience in languages like Java or Python, exposure to financial technology domains including portfolio management and trading, and a focus on high-quality software development in a collaborative environment.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent academic project experience.
  • Foundational programming skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#.
  • Interest and foundational knowledge in building high-quality software collaboratively.
  • Exposure to modern front-end development practices using React, Redux, and Node.js.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS and DevOps practices.
