Software Engineer, Core Services

What you'll do

• Build and enhance large-scale distributed systems using distributed data stores.
• Develop and optimize web service performance focusing on median, 95th, and 99th percentiles.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for the developer community and internal partners.
• Develop features for consumer-facing applications including Apple Music, TV+, and the App Store.
• Solve complex technical problems using sophisticated engineering solutions under tight deadlines.
• Write effective unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability.
• Manage and maintain backend services supporting millions of global customers.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a similar field.
• Master of Science degree (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of JVM or functional languages like Clojure.
• Strong object-oriented design and analysis skills with a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs or other API technologies.
• Experience with NoSQL or document-oriented data stores (preferred).
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments, write unit/integration tests, and demonstrate strong debugging and interpersonal skills (preferred).
