Senior Software Engineer, Apple Services Engineering, Music Data Engineering

What you'll do

• Design and implement features for processing and serving very large, mission-critical datasets.
• Build data processing pipelines to power customer features within Apple Music.
• Create highly scalable applications to model, ingest, compute, and serve large-scale data.
• Develop high-throughput and reliable systems to handle massive data volumes.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices to the engineering team.
• Troubleshoot and prevent performance issues related to distributed storage and network resources.
• Build and run large-scale data pipelines using distributed messaging and streaming compute components.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Significant experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable data systems and services in Java and/or Scala.
• Experience in Spark, Kafka, and Web Services (preferred).
• Experience designing Java-based micro-services using best practices and open-source libraries like DropWizard and Spring (preferred).
• Experience with large-scale data processing technologies including Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Object-Stores, or AWS Lambda (preferred).
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines with distributed messaging like Kafka and various data ingest sources (preferred).
• Knowledge of distributed storage and network resources at the host, cluster, and DC levels (preferred).
• Experience with low-latency NoSQL datastores such as Cassandra and S3 (preferred).
