What you'll do

Write maintainable, tested code with clear APIs using Python and common scientific libraries like NumPy and Pandas.
Translate research papers and technical specifications into functional software to solve high-value customer problems.
Troubleshoot complex software issues and investigate performance bottlenecks using data and profiling tools.
Develop comprehensive software documentation and test procedures for production systems.
Implement end-to-end features ranging from data ingestion and processing to APIs and user-facing functionality.
Communicate technical designs, trade-offs, and implementation decisions clearly to engineers and domain experts.

What we're looking for

Must have strong software engineering fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and computational thinking.
Proficiency in Python is required to build production-level code with clear APIs and good engineering practices.
Familiarity with common scientific and data libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Polars, and SciPy.
Solid understanding of operating systems, memory, concurrency, networking, and performance fundamentals.
Ability to translate research papers or technical specifications into working software solutions.
Experience with systems programming in Rust, C++, or C is a strong plus.
Familiarity with distributed systems, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, REST APIs, or message queues is a strong plus.
An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field is a strong plus.
