Software Engineer, Apple Services Engineering, Music Data Engineering

What you'll do

• Design and implement features for processing and serving very large datasets.
• Build data processing pipelines to power customer features in Apple Music.
• Design complex, highly scalable applications to model, ingest, and compute mission-critical data.
• Develop high-throughput and reliable systems for large-scale data management.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices to the engineering team.
• Troubleshoot and prevent performance issues related to distributed storage and network resources.
• Build and run large-scale data pipelines using distributed messaging and streaming compute components.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Experience in at least one of the following: Spark, Kafka, and Web Services.
• Significant experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable data systems and services in Java and/or Scala.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience designing Java-based micro-services using best practices and open-source libraries (preferred).
• Experience with large-scale data processing technologies like Spark, Flink, Hadoop, or AWS Lambda (preferred).
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines and distributed messaging systems like Kafka (preferred).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Maven, Gradle, Git, and other software lifecycle tools (preferred).
