Software Engineer 5, Open Connect Control Plane

What you'll do

• Build high-scale, resilient cloud services that customers interact with directly when streaming content.
• Develop algorithms to steer customers to Open Connect appliances based on network topology and system load.
• Create tools, visibility, and alerting mechanisms to diagnose and maintain business-critical systems in real-time.
• Build large-scale distributed software systems and data pipelines to organize and move data within data lakes.
• Design models to adapt systems to heterogeneous resource availability and changing demand in real-time.
• Build scalable solutions to automate the global deployment of content to CDN servers.
• Develop algorithms to optimize hardware utilization, cost efficiency, and resource availability.
• Design systems to react automatically to failures, traffic shifts, and other environmental changes.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of software development experience with strong experience in Java.
• Experience building and operating business-critical, real-time systems at scale.
• Distributed systems experience, such as building stateful and stateless systems with Cassandra or Kafka.
• Experience querying, analyzing, and presenting data from large-scale data lakes using Python, SQL, Notebooks, or Spark SQL.
• Basic background in networking and ISP interconnection concepts (preferred).
• Experience with Live streaming (preferred).
• Experience with ML, optimization algorithms, or behavioral modeling using PyTorch or Tensorflow (preferred).
