As a Software Development Manager, you will lead a team of embedded software developers within the Leo Customer Terminal embedded systems engineering team. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, deployment, and operations of software functions for Leo Customer Terminals, which are devices connecting subscribers to a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Your daily work involves developing embedded software using Rust, C++, C, and embedded Linux while participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle. Key tasks include state machine design and analysis, technical writing of design specifications, and debugging production systems in a secure compute environment. You will collaborate with hardware, product, and operations teams to deliver commercial grade services for the Project Leo satellite broadband network.

What you'll do

Develop embedded software functions for Customer Terminal devices using Rust, C++, and C.
Manage the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
Perform development and testing within an embedded Linux environment.
Design and analyze state machines for system functionality.
Support production system operations and debug issues on Customer Terminal deployments.
Write technical design specifications for software components.
Lead a team of embedded software developers to design and build software for R&D and commercial operations.
Develop software within a secure compute environment.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of engineering team management experience.
7+ years of engineering experience.
8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience.
1+ years of experience in technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
