Software Dev Engineer, Amazon Leo Customer Terminal Software joins the Leo Customer Terminal Software Team to develop embedded software for consumer electronic products. This role involves designing, crafting, and deploying reliable software for devices that connect customers to the Project Leo satellite network. You will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, and testing. Key responsibilities include developing embedded software using C, C++, Rust, Python, C#, Java, or Perl. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in Linux and/or RTOS, real-time embedded software philosophies, and object-oriented design. You will also review schematics and use logic analyzers for troubleshooting. The work focuses on providing software for both applications and underlying Linux systems to solve connectivity problems in unserved areas.
Develop embedded software for Customer Terminal devices within the Project Leo system.
Participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements gathering, design, coding, and testing.
Write embedded software using languages such as C, C++, Rust, or Python.
Implement real-time embedded software philosophies and practices.
Utilize expertise in Linux and/or RTOS environments to build software.
Review schematics and use logic analyzers for embedded software troubleshooting.
Design and implement software for both applications and underlying Linux systems.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
