JOB TITLE: Software Development Engineer in Test - Contacts, Phone, FaceTime The Internet Technologies QE & Ops team is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to ensure high standards of quality and privacy across platforms including iOS, macOS, visionOS, watchOS, and tvOS. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for features like Mail, Messages, FaceTime, Phone, Safari, AirDrop, ShareSheet, and Applied Networking. Daily responsibilities include implementing functional, performance, and end-to-end tests, performing root cause analysis on bugs, and developing tools to analyze test result trends. You will utilize Python, Java, Swift, C/C++, or Objective-C, along with git, XCTest, XCUITest, Xcode, and SQL. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams to advocate for testable development practices and maintaining scalable test infrastructure to resolve complex software issues.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and maintain automation test frameworks and tests for new features across multiple platforms.
Implement a mix of functional, performance, reliability, and end-to-end automated tests.
Perform root cause analysis on bugs identified through automated testing.
Investigate and resolve issues blocking automated test runs in a timely manner.
Ensure the scalability and efficiency of the test infrastructure.
Develop tools to analyze and report test result trends.
Advocate for testable development practices during the software design process.
Streamline automated test reporting using various communication mediums.

What we're looking for

BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience developing in Python, Java, Swift, C/C++, or Objective-C.
Experience in software development lifecycle and development tools like git.
Experience testing and automating APIs, UIs, and Native Applications for Mobile and/or Desktop.
Experience working with Continuous Integration systems.
Proficiency in Swift or Objective-C (preferred).
Proficiency in XCTest, XCUITest, and Xcode (preferred).
Familiarity with databases, SQL, and scripting languages (preferred).
