The Software Development Engineer in Test – Apps, Identity Management Services joins the Identity Management Services team to support core systems powering Apple Account identity across platforms like iCloud, the App Store, and Apple Pay. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify gaps in test plans, advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle, and contribute to security and privacy testing for authentication systems. You will utilize Swift, Python, iOS, macOS, RESTful web services, Spring, and ServiceTalk. Key responsibilities include building automated UI and non-UI tests for user-facing applications and system frameworks while ensuring high-scale software reliability and performance.

What you'll do

Define, implement, and evolve automated test frameworks for high-scale software applications.
Monitor CI performance and drive test result analysis, triage, and reporting.
Identify and close gaps in existing test plans with a focus on scalability.
Advocate for quality standards throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Surface and resolve UX and technical issues early in the development cycle.
Contribute to security and privacy testing for authentication and identity management systems.
Develop and maintain automated UI and non-UI tests for various operating systems.

What we're looking for

5+ years of proven experience in Software Development and/or Quality Engineering.
BA/BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
Strong programming and software design skills, preferably in Swift and/or Python (preferred).
Excellent knowledge of test methodologies including functional unit, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
Experience building automated UI and non-UI tests for iOS, macOS, Web, Android, and Windows.
Experience with security, privacy, or authentication-related testing (preferred).
Knowledge of the Apple development ecosystem including Xcode, Xcode Cloud, and XCTest/XCUITest (preferred).
Experience leveraging Generative AI tools to accelerate test authoring or defect triage (preferred).
