As a Software Dev Engineer, Leo Ground Control Services, you will join the team responsible for end-to-end satellite onboard agents and ground services. You will participate in all phases of software development, from requirements through implementation, testing, and operations to automate mission planning and execution while maintaining space safety and service availability. Your daily work involves developing embedded software in C, C++, Rust, or other languages within a real-time operating system environment, as well as building AWS cloud services to manage the satellite fleet. You will write system applications for telemetry, file transfer, and satellite command while collaborating with ground service and satellite agent teams. The role requires expertise in Object Oriented Design and experience developing large-scale, multi-threaded, distributed software systems using C#, C++, Java, or Perl to solve complex orbital communication challenges.
Develop embedded software in C, C++, Rust, or other languages within a real-time operating system environment.
Build AWS cloud services to manage the Leo satellite fleet.
Write system applications for satellite command, file transfer, and telemetry.
Automate mission planning and execution to operate the satellite fleet at scale.
Maintain space safety and maximize service availability for satellite internet customers.
Manage end-to-end onboard agents and ground services for seamless data logging and communication.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
3+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
3+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
2+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations (preferred).
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum for export control compliance.
