As a Software Dev Engineer, Leo Ground Control Services, you will join the team responsible for end-to-end satellite onboard agents and ground services. This role involves participating in all phases of software development, from requirements through implementation, testing, and operations. You will build systems to automate mission planning and execution to manage the fleet at scale while ensuring space safety and service availability. Your daily work includes developing embedded software in C, C++, Rust, or other languages within a real-time operating system environment, as well as creating AWS cloud services for satellite management. You will also write system applications for telemetry, file transfer, and command functions. The role requires proficiency in C#, C++, Java, or Perl to develop large-scale, multi-threaded, distributed software systems to solve complex orbital communication and ground service challenges.
Develop embedded software in C, C++, or Rust within a real-time operating system environment.
Build AWS cloud services to manage the Leo satellite fleet.
Write system applications for satellite command, file transfer, and telemetry.
Automate mission planning and execution to operate the satellite fleet at scale.
Maintain space safety and maximize service availability for satellite internet customers.
Manage end-to-end onboard agents and ground services for seamless data logging and communication.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
Experience developing embedded software in C, C++, Rust, or other languages in a real-time operating system environment.
Experience developing AWS cloud services to manage satellites.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum for export control compliance.
1+ years of embedded firmware development experience (preferred).
