As a SoC Validation Engineer, you will join a team responsible for validating Apple SoCs with system workloads. You will collaborate with functional test writers to understand high-level architectures of IP blocks and define applicable validation plans. Your daily responsibilities include executing system tests through scripts and automation frameworks on large volumes of prototype SoCs across various Process, Voltage, and Temperature corners. You will identify issues, characterize functional voltage under workloads, and serve as the first line of debugger to triage and isolate failures. Working with domain experts, you will define DoEs, develop rootcause theories, and test workarounds. This role requires expertise in computer architecture, logic design, and SoC bring-up. You will utilize Python, Perl, or TCL to analyze data across voltage domains and provide feedback to product engineers regarding operation voltages and testing environments.

What you'll do

Define validation plans based on the high-level architecture of SoC IP blocks.
Execute system tests on prototype SoCs using scripts and automation frameworks across PVT corners.
Identify, triage, and isolate failures during the initial debugging phase.
Collaborate with domain experts to develop root cause theories and test potential workarounds.
Characterize functional voltages (lvcc) of SoCs under various system workloads.
Analyze voltage data to provide feedback for product operation and testing recommendations.
Interface with downstream teams to resolve issues occurring in their specific environments.

What we're looking for

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Experience with SoC bring up (preferred).
Experience with debugging (preferred).
Understanding of computer architectures, logic design, and memory hierarchy (preferred).
Experience with Python, Perl, or TCL (preferred).
