As an SoC QoS/Fabric Performance Architect, Platform Architecture, you will join the Platform Architecture team to shape the architecture of future System-on-Chips. You will drive the development of on-chip communication interconnects and memory Quality-of-Service features. Your daily responsibilities include creating a full-chip C++ simulator for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Watch SoCs to model emerging workloads like Augmented Reality and Machine Learning. You will use these models to study performance and power trade-offs, analyze simulation results, and tune hardware and software for optimal user experience. Required skills include C++ programming, computer architecture knowledge, performance modeling, and debugging. You will also utilize scripting for automation and data visualization while focusing on network-on-chip architecture and cellular or 5G modem architecture.

What you'll do

Create a full-chip C++ simulator for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Watch SoCs.
Model new dataflows for emerging workloads like Augmented Reality and Machine Learning.
Model network-on-chip and integrate it with other SoC components.
Run performance simulations of future applications to study power and performance trade-offs.
Analyze and present simulation results to drive architecture improvements.
Tune and validate future SoC hardware and software for optimal user experience.

What we're looking for

C++ programming experience.
Experience in computer architecture and the HW/SW stack.
Experience with performance modeling and debugging.
20+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
Examples of substantial HW or SW projects brought to completion (preferred).
Coursework and/or practical experience with scripting for automation and data visualization (preferred).
Coursework and/or practical experience with network-on-chip architecture and design (preferred).
