TL;DR · Silicon Validation Engineer

As a Silicon Validation Engineer, you will join a small team focused on the lab characterization and validation of various analog and mixed signal embedded circuits. You will lead efforts to bring up, validate, and characterize high-speed SerDes blocks while collaborating with multi-functional teams to launch mobile SoCs. Your daily responsibilities include developing robust test methodologies to evaluate performance and calculating operating margins across PVT variations, as well as supporting ATE and Product Engineering. The role requires expertise in NRZ and PAM architectures, along with knowledge of CTLE, DFE, FFE, CDR, and PLLs. You will utilize high-speed oscilloscopes, BERTs, and Python programming to analyze signal integrity for protocols like USB, PCIe, and DP. This position addresses the technical challenges of validating complex high-speed serial interfaces within advanced mobile system-on-chip designs.

What you'll do

  • Perform lab characterization and validation of analog and mixed signal embedded circuits.
  • Lead the bring-up, validation, and characterization of high-speed SerDes blocks.
  • Debug and characterize critical SerDes components including CTLE, DFE, FFE, CDR, and PLLs.
  • Utilize high-speed oscilloscopes and BERTs to perform testing and measurements.
  • Analyze signal integrity and adaptation techniques for high-speed serial interfaces.
  • Develop robust test methodologies to evaluate performance margins across PVT variations.
  • Support ATE and Product Engineering activities for mobile SoC launches.

What we're looking for

  • BSEE degree and 10+ years of related industry experience.
  • Experience with high-speed SerDes architectures, including NRZ and PAM, and associated protocols.
  • In-depth knowledge of SerDes blocks such as CTLE, DFE, FFE, CDR, and PLLs.
  • Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment like high-speed oscilloscopes and BERTs.
  • Experience analyzing SerDes signal integrity and understanding adaptation techniques.
  • Experience with high-speed protocols including USB, PCIe, and DP.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, data investigation, and mining skills.
  • MSEE (preferred); hands-on SerDes lab experience (preferred); Python programming experience (preferred).
