Senior Thermal Engineering Technical Leader

What you'll do

• Design and develop air-cooled and liquid-cooled thermal solutions for high-power ASICs and optical transceivers.
• Perform package, board, and system-level thermal simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics tools like Flotherm or Icepak.
• Conduct thermal testing including airflow, acoustic, and thermocouple testing to validate simulation models.
• Lead and mentor other thermal engineers within the hardware group.
• Identify risks and derive data-driven tradeoffs with mechanical engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and reports to present simulation results to project management.

What we're looking for

• Must have a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering with 12 years of experience, a Master's with 8 years, or a PhD with 5 years.
• Must have 5+ years of experience in design, simulation, and testing of thermal solutions for electronic devices and systems.
• Must be able to work onsite in San Jose, CA at least 4 days per week.
• Experience in the thermal design of telecom, compute, or networking equipment (preferred).
• Experience using Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis tools such as Flotherm or Icepak (preferred).
• Knowledge of advanced air-cooling technologies, liquid cooling, or immersion cooling systems (preferred).
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and 3D MCAD modeling tools like Creo or NX (preferred).
• Ability to lead and mentor other thermal engineers within the group.
