What you'll do

Perform thermal analysis and take ownership of thermal design aspects across hardware development programs.
Execute first-order assessments using hand calculations, spreadsheets, and MATLAB or Python to guide preliminary designs.
Develop CFD models and simulations to predict temperatures, heat transfer, and fluid characteristics.
Create and maintain integrated FEMs for imaging platforms to ensure design accuracy.
Conduct test-model correlation testing to validate analytical predictions against physical results.
Collaborate with environmental test engineers on instrumentation selection, test execution, and data processing.
Prepare technical reports to present findings to internal teams, management, and external customers.

What we're looking for

Must have an MS degree or higher in engineering or applied physics with a focus on heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
Requires 7+ years of experience in a thermal analysis or thermo-physics analysis role.
Must have experience with thermal FEA tools such as STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm.
Must be proficient in Matlab or Python for developing analytical models and performing data acquisition and post-processing.
Must have experience performing test-model correlation and test-based characterization of critical modeling input parameters.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Experience with STOP models for high performance imaging systems (preferred).
Knowledge of climatic/dynamic testing, CAD skills, or MIL-STD-810 standards (preferred).
