TL;DR · Senior Systems Software Engineer, Low Latency Streaming Technology

As a Senior Systems Software Engineer, Low Latency Streaming Technology - Automotive, you will join the team responsible for developing ultra-low-latency interactive cloud streaming technology. You will extend and adapt the existing low-latency streaming stack to RTOS platforms like QNX or AUTOSAR Adaptive/Classic while ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 standards. Your daily responsibilities include developing QM-classified software, collaborating with functional safety teams on resource partitioning, building test infrastructure for fault-tolerance, and reviewing team code and processes. The role requires proficiency in C/C++, experience with real-time video/audio pipelines including RTP/RTCP/SRTP protocols, and knowledge of QoS algorithms like FEC and L4S. You will solve the technical challenge of adapting high-performance streaming systems for safety-critical automotive environments, ensuring deterministic performance and architectural isolation from ASIL-rated components in a demanding, real-time production landscape.

What you'll do

  • Adapt and extend the low-latency streaming stack to RTOS platforms like QNX and AUTOSAR.
  • Develop QM-classified streaming software with freedom-from-interference awareness for ISO 26262 compliance.
  • Ensure architectural isolation between streaming components and safety-critical systems.
  • Build and evolve test infrastructure to validate real-time performance and fault-tolerance in automotive scenarios.
  • Define and monitor performance and safety metrics to drive continuous product improvement.
  • Review code and designs while evolving team engineering and safety processes.

What we're looking for

  • Proficiency in C/C++ with strong systems software programming and open-box debugging skills.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and tuning real-time, latency-sensitive software in QNX or other RTOS environments for safety-critical domains.
  • Solid understanding of ISO 26262 classification concepts and freedom-from-interference/partitioning principles.
  • Experience with real-time video/audio pipelines including encoding, decoding, network protocols (RTP/RTCP/SRTP), and QoS algorithms.
  • Understanding of deterministic, thread-safe, and memory-safe coding practices.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in the specified systems software and real-time programming areas.
