TL;DR · Senior Staff Technical Data Analyst, Finance Technology

Senior Staff Technical Data Analyst – Finance Technology The Senior Staff Technical Data Analyst joins the Finance Data & Analytics team within the FLP Tech organization to lead a transition toward AI-assisted and agentic approaches for financial reporting. This role involves owning report and dashboard architecture across a SOX-sensitive portfolio including Revenue, Expense, Workforce, and Compliance domains. You will design data validation frameworks, manage large-scale migrations to cloud data lakes, and ensure audit-ready data lineage. The position requires expertise in SQL, Python, Databricks, Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI to build end-to-end solutions. You will also identify opportunities for GenAI and agentic tooling to automate manual financial control work. Key responsibilities include managing data assets as governed entities, partnering with Internal Audit teams, and mentoring others while translating complex business needs into technical requirements within a highly regulated reporting environment.

What you'll do

  • Own the architecture, roadmap, and consolidation of a large-scale reporting portfolio across multiple finance domains.
  • Design and maintain data validation frameworks to ensure SOX-certified financial reporting is accurate and audit-ready.
  • Lead technical design and execution for large-scale data migrations from legacy platforms to governed cloud environments.
  • Profile and analyze underlying data quality and gaps before it is used for new product or AI initiatives.
  • Manage data assets by implementing monitoring, access governance, and lineage documentation across the data lifecycle.
  • Identify and pilot GenAI and agentic tools to automate financial reporting, control testing, and anomaly detection.
  • Translate complex business requirements from finance stakeholders into clear technical specifications and actionable roadmaps.
  • Build end-to-end BI solutions using SQL, Python, and platforms like Databricks or Tableau while mentoring junior team members.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or technical reporting for Finance, Accounting, or SOX compliance.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Finance/Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data modeling, pipelines, automation, and analysis.
  • Experience building end-to-end BI solutions using tools such as Qlik, Databricks, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake) and performing large-scale data migrations.
  • Experience defining data quality frameworks, lineage documentation, and access governance for regulated reporting.
  • Direct experience supporting SOX-certified financial reporting, including control design, audit walkthroughs, and partner collaboration with Internal Audit.
  • Active use of GenAI tools and a track record of piloting AI/automation to modernize financial reporting and controls.
