JOB TITLE: Senior Staff AI Engineer
The Senior Staff AI Engineer joins the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team to develop proprietary, scalable AI solutions central to banking operations. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and support AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, and observability. The role involves inventing state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, and latency for production systems. You will utilize a technical stack featuring AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch, while programming in Python, Go, Scala, or Java. This position addresses the technical challenge of building responsible, high-performance AI infrastructure to provide real-time, personalized customer experiences and automated internal tools within a complex financial services environment.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 10 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms.
Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 8 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms.
At least 10 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
9 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (preferred).
Experience architecting, designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex enterprise AI systems (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor an engineering organization and influence cross-functional stakeholders up to the SVP level (preferred).
Experience developing AI and ML algorithms using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang (preferred).
Experience developing and applying state-of-the-art techniques for optimizing training and inference software (preferred).
