The Senior Lead AI Engineer (SDK's: Gen AI Evaluation and MCP) joins the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team to develop responsible and reliable AI systems. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components. Key responsibilities include foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability. You will invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, scalability, cost, latency, and throughput for production systems. The technical stack includes AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, Python, Go, Scala, Java, and C++. This position solves the business problem of creating scalable, high-performance AI infrastructure to deliver breakthrough product experiences and personalized customer interactions within the banking sector.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and LLM inference.
Implement similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability systems.
Utilize open-source and SaaS technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch.
Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput.
Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
Lead and mentor an engineering team while influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
Apply novel techniques from scientific publications to production AI environments.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 6 years of AI/ML experience.
Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 4 years of AI/ML experience.
At least 6 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
7 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (preferred).
Experience designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor an engineering team and influence cross-functional stakeholders (preferred).
Experience developing AI/ML algorithms like LLM Inference, Similarity Search, and VectorDBs using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang (preferred).
Experience applying state-of-the-art techniques for optimizing training and inference software to improve hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost (preferred).
