Senior Specialist, Integration & Test serves within the Space Systems Sector to direct and perform test operations across a suite of space-payload products. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on execution, requiring the engineer to manage a small team of technicians and engineers while ensuring payload hardware is thoroughly validated. Key responsibilities include developing test strategies, managing documentation, coordinating daily activities, and serving as a primary interface for status reporting and risk mitigation. The candidate will navigate complex verification and validation plans involving environmental, functional, and system-level campaigns. Required skills include experience with space payloads or spacecraft buses, root-cause analysis, and RF measurements using tools like Spectrum Analyzers and Signal Generators. Technical proficiency in automation and scripting languages such as LabVIEW, Python, Perl, Ruby, PuTTy, MobaXTerm, and Visual Studio Code is also required.
Lead the planning and execution of payload-level test operations to ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple products.
Develop and maintain test strategies, documentation, and workflows for the verification and validation of complex hardware.
Direct daily activities for a team of engineers and technicians while coordinating assignments and resolving operational obstacles.
Guide test readiness preparations, sequencing, and execution across environmental, functional, and system-level campaigns.
Serve as the primary interface to leadership and customers regarding payload test status, risks, and mitigation plans.
Monitor progress, resource usage, and milestones to provide status reporting for programmatic decision-making.
Provide technical inputs such as test approaches and Basis of Estimate data for proposal and pursuit activities.
Perform on-site testing at internal facilities or partner locations as required by the program.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance.
Experience leading integration and test activities for space payloads or complex aerospace systems (preferred).
Background in developing or executing verification and validation plans for hardware involving environmental, functional, or space-qualification processes (preferred).
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems used in space hardware (preferred).
