The Senior Software Manager - CRDN will join the Coronary & Renal Denervation team within the Interventional Cardiology Therapies business unit. In this role, you will have full life cycle responsibility for a software product, overseeing a team of engineers who develop and support firmware, embedded, GUI, and application software for stand-alone medical devices and accessory digital solutions. You will lead the Scrum Team through the software development lifecycle following IEC 62304/82304 standards, manage team backlogs, and ensure compliance with medical device regulations. Key technologies include Windows-based applications and Cloud services. You will solve technical challenges related to energy-based therapeutic medical devices used to treat hypertension, specifically supporting the newly approved Symplicity Spyral Renal Denervation System and associated capital equipment.
Lead a team of software engineers in developing firmware, embedded software, GUI, and cloud services for medical devices.
Manage the full software development life cycle (SDLC) for medical products following IEC 62304/82304 standards.
Direct the Scrum team through sprint planning, increment planning, and backlog management.
Partner with product leadership and stakeholders to align software strategies with business needs and requirements.
Oversee department processes, including talent recruitment, resource planning, and performance development.
Ensure team compliance with internal design controls, medical device regulations, and quality standards.
Prepare team members for regulatory audits and represent the team's work during official inspections.
Mentor and coach team members while driving best practices and consistency across project teams.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline and minimum of 7 years of technical work experience.
Advanced degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline with 5 years of technical work experience and 5 years of managerial experience.
Experience building medical device software.
Experience building Windows based applications and Cloud services.
Experience leading agile software development teams.
Familiarity with FDA submissions, design history files (DHF), and technical documentation (preferred).
Experience in software architecture design, writing design documents, creating flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts (preferred).
Work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
