What you'll do

Design, build, and operate high-quality backend services using Java and Kotlin on AWS.
Architect scalable solutions leveraging Temporal, Redis, and distributed databases.
Implement identity standards including ISO 18013/23220, ICAO 9303, and the W3C Digital Credentials API.
Prototype, build, and test new features in close coordination with iOS engineers.
Drive the complete software development lifecycle from initial design through testing and release.
Distill ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable technical solutions.
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high service reliability.

What we're looking for

7+ years of professional software development experience.
Experience architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable distributed systems.
Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and team mentorship.
Experience developing and launching web services with Java and/or Kotlin (preferred).
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3 and DynamoDB (preferred).
Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Temporal or similar (preferred).
Track record of designing, building, and documenting client-facing and server-facing APIs using REST and/or gRPC (preferred).
Knowledge of security fundamentals such as certificates, PKI, signing, and encryption (preferred).
