JOB TITLE: Senior, Software Engineer (partner engineer or solution engineer)
The Senior Partner Engineer joins the team to help external developers successfully integrate with the Walmart Marketplace API ecosystem. This role involves guiding partners through onboarding, troubleshooting integration issues, and providing architectural recommendations to build reliable, scalable integrations. You will develop tools, dashboards, and metrics to monitor API usage while collaborating with core engineering teams to design foundational systems, SDKs, and integration patterns. The position requires hands-on coding skills in Java, NodeJS, Rust, or similar backend languages, alongside proficiency in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, authentication flows, and distributed systems. You will also utilize cloud environments, CI/CD, and observability tooling to identify systemic gaps and improve developer experience. This role solves technical friction points within the marketplace by aligning partner needs with platform capabilities and API design.

What we're looking for
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
6+ years of experience in software engineering, partner engineering, solutions engineering, or developer relations.
Strong hands-on coding skills with proficiency in Java, NodeJS, Rust, or similar backend development languages.
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, authentication/authorization flows, and distributed system fundamentals.
Experience debugging complex integration issues involving API gateways, backend services, or data pipelines.
Familiarity with cloud environments, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability tooling.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area (preferred).
