What you'll do

Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its underlying infrastructure using Go.
Develop a platform for universal agent skills, including portable formats, authoring tools, and linting.
Establish correctness bars for shared tools and skills by implementing evaluation-based testing.
Design and deliver integrations to make Elastic available within third-party AI ecosystems.
Contribute to the Elastic CLI to improve efficiency for developers and automated agents.
Develop, maintain, and support libraries and tools using a mix of Go and Rust.
Provide product thinking by forming and defending opinions on what features should be built.

What we're looking for

8+ years of software engineering experience working on backend systems, services, or libraries.
Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and a working understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and MCP protocols.
Significant recent working experience in Go and other programming languages.
Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
Ability to read and contribute to codebases in unfamiliar programming languages.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and partners.
Experience building or operating infrastructure and interest in telemetry/observability (preferred).
Connection to technical communities through open source projects, blogs, or talks (preferred); experience with Elastic products (preferred).
