Senior Software Engineer, Global Subscriptions and Pricing Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Architect and build distributed, fault-tolerant backend services that scale with the global commerce ecosystem.
• Manage critical components like Pricing Cache 2 to ensure reliable and efficient pricing lookups at scale.
• Design and implement developer-facing REST APIs for configuring offers and subscriptions.
• Drive modernization of the codebase by establishing coding patterns, test automation, and observability standards.
• Mentor engineers on writing maintainable code and influence architectural decisions across the infrastructure.
• Ensure pricing accuracy and compliance by collaborating with Finance, Commerce, and AppleCare teams.
• Build new features, data models, and user workflows while ensuring high performance and reliability.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience crafting, implementing, and supporting highly scalable backend applications.
• Proven expertise in designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
• Expert experience with Java or Scala.
• Meaningful experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies and messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Demonstrated grasp of multi-threaded and asynchronous programming concepts.
• Deep understanding of HTTP and REST APIs.
• Strong background in Unix/Unix-like systems.
