Senior Software Engineer - CTJ - Poly

What you'll do

• Applies debugging tools to proactively write code and reactively solve issues, identifying root causes through retrospective analysis.
• Maintains live service operations on a rotational basis, implementing solutions and escalations as needed, and writing postmortem reports.
• Acts as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), guiding engineers in monitoring systems for degradation or interruptions and escalating issues appropriately.
• Drives integration of instrumentation to gather telemetry data on system behavior, creating notifications and dashboards from this data.
• Collects and analyzes metrics on system health and bug occurrences, refining products through data analytics and informed decision-making.
• Builds and enhances software developer tools, contributing to open-source projects and identifying new methods for current solutions.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in debugging complex issues using logs, telemetry, and other methods.
• Expertise in maintaining live service operations on a rotational, on-call basis.
• Ability to drive the integration of instrumentation for gathering system behavior data.
• Skills in collecting, classifying, analyzing data metrics, and refining products through analytics.
• Experience building and enhancing software developer tools, including open-source contributions.
• Capability to define standardized solutions ensuring quality and scalability.
• Strong project management and communication skills for end-to-end project lifecycle.
