What you'll do

Design performance and benchmarking workloads that reflect realistic customer and product scenarios.
Build and improve production-quality internal tooling, test harnesses, and automated workload components.
Write and maintain high-quality code primarily in Python to support benchmarking initiatives.
Execute benchmarks across cloud environments while managing for fairness, noise reduction, and cost.
Analyze latency, throughput, and infrastructure signals to identify bottlenecks and explain results.
Translate ambiguous business questions into scoped technical plans and execution milestones.
Produce technical documents and reports that connect performance findings to product decisions.
Improve internal engineering workflows and team standards for documentation and benchmarking execution.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience building, debugging, and improving distributed and/or highly concurrent software systems.
Hands-on experience with MongoDB architecture, MQL, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with performance testing methodologies such as load, stress, latency, or scalability testing.
Experience designing and implementing benchmarking or performance-validation workflows.
Strong coding skills in Python or a similar language.
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, Cassandra, or other competing data platforms.
Experience with CI/CD systems and integrating automated tests into engineering workflows (preferred).
Experience creating reusable technical documentation, runbooks, or internal playbooks (preferred).
