What you'll do

Extend Luna’s agentic capabilities, including LLM-backed actions and tool use, while meeting strict government compliance standards.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools as a core component of the daily engineering workflow to increase shipping speed and quality.
Take end-to-end ownership of software lifecycle tasks including scoping, design, testing, deployment, and on-call support.
Maintain a shared system context repository to ensure AI agents operate accurately within defined constraints.
Perform code reviews and mentor other engineers to improve team engineering practices and CI/CD standards.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production Python code.
Hands-on experience building automation, integrations, or backend services that interact with multiple third-party APIs.
Demonstrated AI-first approach using tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor in development workflows.
Advanced prompt engineering skills to create precise, structured prompts and maintain system context for reliable AI outputs.
Experience building agentic systems including LLM-backed agents, tool/function calling, MCP servers, and retrieval-augmented systems.
Proficiency in core engineering practices including clean code, API design, testing, CI/CD, and public cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical decisions to both engineers and non-engineer stakeholders.
