What you'll do

  • Design, program, deploy, and support clinical applications within the IHS Resource and Patient Management System.
  • Develop, code, test, and debug complex new software products or significant enhancements to existing systems.
  • Analyze and recommend technical solutions for application design issues including network platform and security considerations.
  • Implement user interface accessibility requirements using best-practice and industry standard approaches.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and provide customer support for clinical applications within the RPMS system.
  • Provide input for technical documentation, including user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with testers to validate that software changes meet specified requirements.
  • Prepare reports regarding project progress, findings, and technical analyses.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have 8+ years of software development experience specifically in FileMan/M/Cache.
  • Experience with Cache Design and M-Code is required.
  • Ability to perform information system requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing.
  • Ability to translate design artifacts into usable code.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of VA/IHS environments, RPMS, CPRS, or legacy VISTA.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust (MBI T2) which requires U.S. residency for 3 of the past 5 years.
