What you'll do

Own the end-to-end security data onboarding and engineering processes.
Evaluate new data sources to determine their security value and design collection methods.
Build, monitor, and troubleshoot security data flows using Kafka, Splunk HEC, syslog, APIs, and Python.
Serve as the technical SME and administrator for Splunk Cloud and Splunk Enterprise Security infrastructure.
Ensure telemetry has the necessary quality, context, normalization, and performance for effective detections.
Oversee data reliability and optimize data transformation at scale.
Explore new architectures and federated security analytics to manage growing data volumes and costs.
Develop visibility into AI-related telemetry including LLM usage and enterprise AI services.

What we're looking for

5+ years of experience in security engineering, security operations, data engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Deep hands-on experience with Splunk Cloud, Splunk Enterprise, and Splunk Enterprise Security.
Advanced SPL skills.
5+ years of experience with Splunk ingestion, forwarders, data models, CIM, and platform troubleshooting.
Experience onboarding and transforming data at scale including parsing, filtering, normalization, enrichment, and optimization.
Hands-on experience with technologies such as Kafka, HEC, syslog, REST APIs, Python, and Linux.
