As a Senior Security Automation Engineer, Web & Edge Security, you will join the team to identify and engineer away security problems that do not scale. You will build production-ready automation and AI-assisted frameworks to protect web applications across diverse edge-security environments. Your daily responsibilities include re-engineering manual workflows into reliable systems for vulnerability response, WAF policy validation, coverage assessment, and multi-vendor automation. You will develop services, APIs, and pipelines while building evaluation frameworks to ensure the safety and consistency of AI-assisted security outputs. The role requires proficiency in Python or TypeScript, experience with WAF/CDN technologies like Cloudflare or Akamai, and deep knowledge of HTTP parsing and protocol edge cases. You will solve complex problems regarding configuration drift and policy lifecycles by translating technical requirements into scalable engineering capabilities for the organization.
Build production-ready automation and AI-assisted systems for web and edge security across multiple WAF/CDN platforms.
Transform manual, high-friction security processes into scalable services, APIs, pipelines, and self-service tools for product teams.
Develop automated workflows for vulnerability response, including AI-assisted analysis, rule creation, and regression testing.
Create automation for vulnerability intelligence, control coverage, policy lifecycles, and configuration drift detection.
Build evaluation frameworks to measure the accuracy, consistency, and safety of AI-assisted security outputs.
Develop abstractions that reduce operational complexity when managing multiple different WAF vendors.
Translate complex security requirements into reusable engineering capabilities in collaboration with architects and product teams.
Identify opportunities where AI can improve team efficiency while maintaining human judgment for critical security decisions.
What we're looking for
6+ years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, or security automation with shipped production code.
Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or a comparable language for building production-quality services and automation.
Proven experience designing and operating production services, APIs, or automation systems at scale including observability and reliability measurement.
Strong systems-design judgment to determine when to build abstractions versus integrating existing platforms.
Solid fundamentals in web, application, and edge security.
Experience developing AI/LLM-assisted systems or applying contemporary AI engineering approaches like structured outputs and evaluation.
Deep production experience with LLM-integrated or agentic systems (preferred).
Hands-on experience with major WAF/CDN technologies such as AWS WAF, Cloudflare, Akamai, Fastly, or Mod Security/CRS (preferred).
