Senior Researcher, Office Product Group

What you'll do

• Support development of frameworks for coordination among AI components.
• Improve code generation techniques in low-resource environments for models.
• Implement fine-tuning approaches for large-scale machine learning models.
• Design evaluation strategies reflecting real-world Microsoft 365 user workflows.
• Translate research ideas into scalable, production-ready features with UX focus.

What we're looking for

• Doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent experience (Master's/Bachelor's degree plus years of research).
• 3+ years related research experience for advanced degrees.
• Experience contributing to academic publications and engaging with the research community.
• Familiarity with evaluation methods for generative and agent-based systems.
• Experience working with large language models and applying fine-tuning techniques.
• Ability to collaborate across research and engineering teams for production transitions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
