As a Senior Applied Researcher, you will join a diverse team of engineers and scientists to leverage Generative AI and Machine Learning techniques for Digital Experience customers. You will partner with Adobe Research to develop cutting-edge models, design applications powered by generative AI, and manage technical aspects including API definition, UI integration, cloud service deployment, and ML-Ops best practices. To succeed, you must possess a PhD or MS degree and expertise in Python, Scala, Java, or SQL, along with experience in PyTorch or TensorFlow. You will apply your knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, and statistical modeling to solve problems regarding audience creation, journey optimization, and personalization at scale for enterprise customers.

What you'll do

  • Develop cutting-edge machine learning models in partnership with Adobe Research.
  • Build applications powered by generative AI and large language models.
  • Solve engineering problems including API definition, UI integration, and cloud service deployment.
  • Implement ML- and LLM-Ops best practices for production environments.
  • Provide technical leadership on architectural design and technology selection.
  • Conduct holistic evaluations of machine learning models to ensure performance.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from initial design through production operations.

What we're looking for

  • Must hold a PhD or MS degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Requires 10+ years of applied research experience in the software industry or academic research.
  • Requires 5+ years of experience developing, evaluating, and deploying ML models into production.
  • Must have a deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, or analytics concepts.
  • Proficiency is required in one or more programming languages such as Python, Scala, Java, or SQL.
  • Must be fluent in at least one deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Experience with LLMs and the emerging area of prompt engineering is required.
  • Candidate must be located in San Jose or willing to relocate to the San Jose office.
