TL;DR · Senior Research Statistician, Exploratory Analysis

JOB TITLE: Senior Research Statistician - Exploratory Analysis (Hybrid) The Senior Research Statistician provides statistical support to research and development organizations for drug discovery, target identification, and clinical biomarker exploration. Working under supervision, this role supports discovery researchers, translational scientists, and clinicians in designing, collecting, analyzing, and reporting multi-dimensional biomarker data from early to late-stage clinical development. Key responsibilities include contributing to biomarker-based clinical trials, identifying markers for disease progression, and developing companion diagnostic tests for precision medicine. The role requires integrating high-dimensional data from omics and imaging sources while applying machine learning, predictive modeling, and multiple testing control methods like cross-validation and random resampling. Candidates must possess an MS or PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics, research experience in pharma or healthcare, and the technical competence to communicate complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians.

What you'll do

  • Design, analyze, and report multi-dimensional biomarker data from drug discovery through late-stage clinical development.
  • Develop biomarker sections of clinical trial protocols and specific biomarker analysis plans.
  • Identify markers and signatures from omics, imaging, and other data for target identification and patient stratification.
  • Perform statistical analyses for pharmacodynamic, safety, prognostic, and predictive biomarker studies.
  • Ensure data quality and comprehensiveness for all assigned statistical analyses and deliverables.
  • Evaluate software appropriateness and propose novel statistical methodologies for scientific investigations.
  • Present data inferences and explain complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
  • Collaborate on the publication of scientific research and support cross-functional communications.

What we're looking for

  • MS with 4+ years of experience or a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a highly related field.
  • Research experience in the pharma or healthcare space.
  • Experience with Machine Learning.
  • Experience with Biomarker Research (preferred).
  • High degree of technical competence and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to identify data or analytical issues and provide solutions or seek help from others.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and cross-functional collaborators to achieve higher performance.
  • Ability to integrate high dimensional data and familiarity with overfitting, multiple testing control, and predictive modeling methods.
