As a Senior Quantum Foundry Technologist & Library Specialist on Microsoft’s Quantum 1st Party Hardware System-on-a-Chip (SOC) team, you will lead the development of Microsoft’s quantum Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) Foundry and Library Interface by interfacing with internal and external foundries to establish long-term partnerships and create library Process-Development-Kits (PDKs). Your daily tasks include evaluating foundries for materials and processes tailored to Microsoft’s needs, leading technical interactions during pre-silicon design and post-manufacturing stages, and defining testchip designs for technology interception. You will use SPICE, EDA tools from Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens, and Python, Java, C++ for scripting and AI/ML optimization. This role requires expertise in device physics, statistical analysis, yield improvement, and cross-functional collaboration with architects, quantum theorists, experimentalists, and cloud engineers to advance topological qubits and quantum systems.

What you'll do
Audit external foundries to select suitable partners for long-term engagement.

What we're looking for
Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
5+ years experience in device physics, foundry design collateral, process qualification, fabrication processes, reliability analysis
Proficiency in PDKs/Libraries for cryo temperatures and custom library development
Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams in program management
