TL;DR

As a Quantum ASIC Project Lead on Microsoft's Quantum 1st Party Hardware ASIC team, you will lead the development of advanced Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) for quantum computing applications. Your day-to-day responsibilities include defining System-on-Chip (SoC) microarchitecture specifications, driving design and verification processes with cross-functional teams, and coordinating efforts across IP owners, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful tapeout and production. You will manage post-silicon validation, device characterization, and the transition to manufacturing while maintaining stringent power, performance, and timing goals. The role requires expertise in Verilog and SystemVerilog for RTL design, synthesis, and static checks, as well as proficiency in Python or Perl scripting for automation. Experience with AI-assisted engineering tasks is a plus, given Microsoft's focus on integrating cutting-edge technologies to solve complex challenges in quantum computing at scale.
