As a Senior Quantum Engineer specializing in Cryo-CMOS Analog Circuit Design at Microsoft Quantum, you will join a dynamic team focused on developing integrated control electronics for quantum computing platforms. Your daily responsibilities include designing high-performance CMOS circuits that function across room-temperature and cryogenic conditions, collaborating with system architects and experimental physicists to translate system-level requirements into robust circuit implementations. You will leverage Electronic Design Automation tools like Cadence Virtuoso, scripting languages, and Linux environments to simulate and verify full-custom analog designs, while also supporting the integration of ASICs with control hardware. This role demands expertise in analog and mixed-signal design, including experience with critical components such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and RF circuits, alongside a strong background in cryogenic circuitry and low-temperature measurements.
Design and develop CMOS analog circuits for quantum control applications.
Contribute to the architecture and specification of Cryo-CMOS subsystems.
Perform simulation verification of full-custom analog designs.
Optimize system-level tradeoffs across analog, digital, and cryogenic domains.
Support bring-up and characterization of ASICs integrated with control hardware.
Document design methodologies for reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to technical publications and internal reports.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
6+ years of technical engineering experience in analog or mixed-signal design.
Experience designing CMOS analog circuits for quantum control applications.
Proficiency with Electronic Design Automation tools and scripting languages.
Hands-on experience with cryogenic circuit design and low-temperature measurements.
Strong communication and documentation skills, including technical publications.
Familiarity with digital design languages and signal integrity in high-performance systems.
