Senior Quality Engineer, Applied AI

What you'll do

• Lead quality and reliability efforts for an AI development pod solving complex business and engineering problems.
• Design and implement test strategies and release readiness criteria for AI-enabled software and agentic workflows.
• Identify failure modes across code, prompts, models, infrastructure, and user workflows in collaboration with engineers.
• Build confidence in fast-moving solutions through automated testing, observability, instrumentation, and operational safeguards.
• Define practical standards for reliability, debugging, and production operations within an AI-first development model.
• Contribute directly to code, infrastructure, and tooling to improve developer feedback loops and system stability.
• Manage launch readiness, root cause analysis, and incident response for front-facing systems.
• Advocate for engineering discipline in quality assurance, release engineering, and infrastructure hygiene.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, quality engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related role.
• Demonstrated experience building or operating reliable production software systems including testing, observability, and deployment confidence.
• Strong technical fluency in modern software architectures, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, and cloud or platform infrastructure.
• Experience with frontier AI tooling, LLM-enabled applications, or agentic systems and their unique reliability challenges.
• Ability to balance hands-on implementation with high-level quality strategy based on the need for rigor versus speed.
• Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and incident response skills focused on preventing recurring failures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• U.S. Person status is required for access to export controlled data.
• Experience supporting AI-first development teams and designing controls for non-deterministic behavior (preferred).
• Experience with automated testing strategies including unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and reliability testing (preferred).
• Experience with infrastructure as code, cloud platforms, observability stacks, and release engineering (preferred).
• Experience in high-growth startup environments balancing speed and engineering rigor (preferred).
• Familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, WMS, CRM, or finance systems (preferred).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (preferred).
