Senior Product Solutions Architect - Autonomous Incident Response joins the Product Solutions Architecture team as a technical multiplier and domain expert. This role involves partnering with Field teams to provide architectural guidance for enterprise customers adopting Service Management tools, including App Builder, Incident Management, Event Management, Workflow Automation, and On-Call. You will design on-call escalation policies, incident response workflows, and event correlation pipelines while creating high-impact technical collateral like reference architectures and cookbooks. The role requires a strong engineering foundation in distributed systems, observability concepts such as tracing, metrics, and logging, and proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript. You will also utilize low-code development concepts to build custom internal tools. This position solves the problem of automating manual toil around incident response to help enterprises detect, triage, and resolve operational issues more efficiently.
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Datadog's Service Management product suite.
Provide technical and architectural guidance to enterprise customers on incident response and workflow automation.
Design custom on-call escalation policies, event correlation pipelines, and internal tools using App Builder.
Create technical collateral including reference architectures, guides, and cookbooks for field teams and customers.
Build proofs of concept and small-scale deployments to validate solutions in real-world environments.
Provide actionable feedback to Product Management based on field experience to influence the product roadmap.
What we're looking for
Strong engineering foundation with experience building and operating incident response programs, on-call rotations, or internal automation in production environments.
Familiarity with distributed systems and core observability concepts including tracing, metrics, and logging.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with low-code or no-code application development concepts.
Strong consultative skills to support customers in high-pressure situations and complex scenarios.
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time via auto, train, or air.
5+ years experience as a Solutions Architect or Sales Engineer supporting incident management, ITSM, on-call, or workflow automation tools (preferred).
Experience using Datadog or other observability tools in an SRE or DevOps capacity (preferred).
