Senior Platform Software Engineer As a member of the Functions team, you will join the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure group to design, build, test, deploy, and operate highly available cloud services at scale. This role focuses on solving technically challenging problems involving distributed systems, service reliability, performance, security, and developer experience for a serverless platform that allows customers to run critical workloads without managing underlying compute infrastructure. You will own bounded platform components, evolve multi-tenant contracts, perform deep debugging across limited-service graphs, and implement resilience and capacity patterns. Your daily work involves the full development lifecycle, including software architecture design, performance profiling, API versioning, and implementing secure coding practices. You will collaborate with product managers and architects to translate requirements into maintainable solutions while providing technical guidance on complex issues to ensure high availability and usability for the platform's users.

What you'll do

Own and evolve bounded platform components, including service modules and SDK areas for multi-tenant use.
Design and develop high-availability cloud services while implementing performance optimization and scalability strategies.
Perform deep debugging across limited-service graphs to identify and resolve complex software issues.
Implement robust monitoring, observability, and automated testing to ensure system reliability and health.
Manage API versioning, lifecycle management, and interoperability strategies for integrated systems.
Execute secure coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities and maintain high code quality standards.
Conduct performance profiling and optimize code to meet specific business and operational goals.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to resolve customer-reported issues and product defects.

What we're looking for

Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Requires 3 to 5+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
Experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and operating high-availability cloud services at scale.
Proficiency in developing distributed systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and security.
Ability to perform deep debugging, troubleshooting, and performance profiling for complex software issues.
Experience implementing API versioning, lifecycle management, and interoperability strategies.
Knowledge of secure coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities and ensure code quality.
Ability to lead code reviews and mentor others on technical best practices.
