The Senior Mission Operations Engineer joins the Strategic Defense business line to manage the execution and success of customer accounts. This role involves owning the deployment lifecycle for compute infrastructure, including Menace-T, Menace-I, and Voyager devices at government sites. You will lead site surveys, manage installations, and coordinate third-party integrations for sensors and effectors while assessing power, cooling, and networking requirements. Serving as a technical bridge, you will translate government operational needs into engineering requirements and collaborate with Software Engineering and SRE teams on software baselines and incident response. You will also build fleet management capabilities to track hardware assets and system health. The role supports critical missile defense and battle management architectures, connecting sensors and decision-makers across every domain.
Plan and execute site deployments of Anduril compute nodes at government sites nationwide.
Serve as the primary technical liaison between government customers and internal engineering teams.
Coordinate the physical integration of third-party sensors and effectors into Anduril hardware.
Build and manage a fleet management system to track hardware assets, configurations, and system health.
Partner with SRE teams to monitor node health, coordinate software updates, and support incident response.
Create technical reports, deployment readiness reviews, and status briefings for leadership and customers.
Develop repeatable processes and playbooks to scale site activations and deployment capabilities.
What we're looking for
Must possess and maintain an active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
5+ years of experience in site operations, field engineering, systems deployment, or technical program management in defense or national security environments.
Hands-on experience deploying and sustaining compute hardware in operational or lab environments.
Technical familiarity with defense hardware form factors, including rack-mount servers and ruggedized edge compute devices.
Understanding of third-party system integration requirements, including power, cooling, and networking.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a liaison between technical engineering teams and government customers.
Experience working with software engineers or SRE teams on deployment, integration, or operational readiness.
Ability to travel 25–50% to government sites for deployments and customer engagements.
